However, to begin, I want to wish everyone, every single one of you, a joyous, happy, and healthy Easter. I don't care what your religious preference is, I want everyone to have a wonderful day today! If you are Christian and celebrate this sacred day, may you feel Jesus within you and have a blessed day.
Now for the main point...
It is the month of March. March is more than just the third month of the year, complete with Ides, St. Patty's and occasionally Easter, it is also Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. However, NO ONE seems to realize the impact that colorectal cancer has on people with inflammatory bowel disease. I've seen just about everyone talk/post/tweet about how age correlates with the disease, or even IBS (don't get me started), but not a peep (Easter pun?) on Crohn's and Colitis and their excruciatingly increased risks of such cancers. Having IBD can increase your risk of colon cancer by more than 5 times that of the normal population, but I guess no one is counting.
Why...why is that?
