- I have an autoimmune disease that, as of yet, cannot be cured by science
- I have been a victim of this disease and have suffered tremendously because of it, do not diminish that in any way shape or form because that is an insult to me and others
- I am a medical student and trust the treatment and research done by thousands of physicians before me, because we are a well educated, highly trained group
- I do NOT trust any article written on the internet that is not in a medical journal and no one should, especially about IBD & vaccines, because it is a disgrace
For anyone to claim that there is some sort of cure would essentially discredit everything we go through with IBD, that our suffering and pain is for nothing (because if I sucked on aloe juice I would be better, right?). For that, I am mad. For that, I am insulted.
I am all for using holistic medicine to help the symptoms of Crohn's & Ulcerative Colitis. I am in Osteopathic Medical school for God's sake, I believe mind, body & soul heal as one. I agree that there are ways to help and aid those with IBD that are not all pharmaceutical. I know manipulation, acupuncture, probiotics, and the like can all help someone with an autoimmune disease to feel better. However, there is, by no means, any cure for these illnesses and almost everyone who achieves remission from these does it by way of injections or infusions or handfuls of nauseating pills and let's not forget the sugeries.
It is not easy, it is not fun, so just don't...you're wrong.
Love & Thanks,
