However, when I go to the gym, I don't wear a lot of makeup, if any at all. But sometimes, if I have some blemishes or know I'm stopping somewhere after, I put on 2-3 products in 5 minutes flat. I wanted to write a post about some old and newer/new-ish products I use and am absolutely, head over Louboutin heels obsessed with. They are great for the natural look and won't damage your skin while your pores are open and dripping with sweat, AND they stay looking great even during and after your workout.
What a lot of people don't know is that moisturizer is key, even if you have "oily" skin. Utilizing a moisturizer will halt your skin from creating extra oil. About 4 months ago I discovered CLINIQUE Moisture Surge Overnight Mask. I wouldn't really consider it a mask, but more so a heavier moisturizer. When used regularly, and that means every night, you will notice a change in your skin. You will produce less oils during the day, your skin will have that bouncy, hydrated look and feel, and overall give you a better "foundation" for your makeup. HOWEVER, to optimize the effects, I suggest you drink upwards of 60 oz. of water a day, especially since we're talking about working out here.... (80% of the country is chronically dehydrated and can make you have very crazy side effects, from drowsiness to obesity.) - Yes I am a med school nerd.
BB CREAM ANYONE?
This is a staple for me, and I don't just use this on gym days. However, I use it differently on gym days. DR. JART+ BB Radiance Beauty Balm is, quite frankly, the shit. Just a small squeeze in the hand, rub it all over the face with your fingers, and bam, you look flawless. It covers imperfections easily. It dries quickly, and even when you sweat it doesn't streak or anything. I adore it. That's it, couldn't be more simple.
FLASH THOSE LASHES
While I don't love the name, I am obsessed with the product. I have tried every brand of popular mascara out there, from every one on the drug store shelf, to Mac, Dior, etc. Nothing, and I mean nothing, takes the cake quite like TOO FACED Better Than Sex Mascara. This stuff, when applying 2-3 coats, makes your lashes look incredible. I don't have any smudging issues with it, and if you wait a few seconds between coats, you will see your lashes lengthen and seem to multiply before your eyes. I love to wear it without any other eye makeup, just to show off my lashes, and because who needs liner or shadow to work out. No falsies, just Better Than Sex. This is an amazing gym mascara because it makes your eyes POP without any other products. Who doesn't love sexy lashes?
IF YA WANT THAT SUN KISSED GLOW
Something extra that takes 20 seconds, if you want to add a glow...utilize TARTE Amazonian Clay Waterproof Bronzer. Just a swipe with a brush on the cheek bones, sides of the nose, and tip of the forehead will having you looking naturally sun-kissed and won't run with sweat!
This beauty routine takes me 5 minutes and I am out the door, if even! I swear by these products, and the beauty of it is, none of them are just for gym days, so it's not like you are spending money for different makeup. You can use them every day! The BB cream can be applied in layers for more coverage for going out, the bronzer can always be used, as well as the mascara!!
